Item description
Up for sale is an original vintage theatre programme from the Guildford Theatre Company’s November 1957 production of “Family on Trial”. Written and produced by John Wiles, this production marked the theatre’s 12th year and its 489th production.
The production is notable for featuring early stage performances by Henry McGee (who went on to find massive fame as Benny Hill’s straight man) and Patsy Byrne (best known later as Nursie in Blackadder II).

The programme is in good vintage condition for its age. The front cover features a light, contemporary handwritten ink note at the top reading “Thursday, 26th Nov 1957, 7.0 p.m.”. The pages exhibit minor age-toning and light handling crease marks along the spine edge. The original binding staples remain secure and intact, with no large structural tears or missing pages.
