History – The Army Service Corps (ASC) was the unsung backbone of the British Army during the Great War, responsible for the monumental task of transporting all food, equipment, ammunition, and fuel to the front lines. In recognition of their incredible service and bravery during World War I, King George V bestowed the “Royal” prefix upon them in 1918, renaming them the Royal Army Service Corps (RASC). This specific badge predates that change, firmly placing its manufacturing during the 1914–1918 conflict.
