Item History
The Brecknockshire Battalion was a celebrated territorial infantry unit of the British Army, historically integrated as a battalion of the South Wales Borderers. During World War I, the battalion mobilized in 1914 and deployed overseas to perform vital defensive and security operations in Aden and India. This specific pattern with the solid brass slider fixing was proudly worn on forage caps and pith helmets throughout the Great War and interwar periods, making original examples highly sought after due to the battalion’s relatively small size compared to standard line regiments.
