Item Description
Up for sale is an authentic, rare vintage British Army Corps of Military Accountants (CMA) Cap Badge. Dating to the immediate post-WWI era, this badge features an elegant oval frame inscribed with “Corps of Military Accountants”, enclosing the stylized, voided royal cypher of King George V (GvR). The entire emblem is beautifully surmounted by the Tudor King’s Crown.
This original piece is struck in brass and includes its authentic, smooth un-marked vertical rear metal slider. Because this unit was only active for a very brief period, genuine surviving insignias are scarce, making this an elite addition to any serious militaria, logistics, or WWI/interwar period collection.

History of the Insignia
The Corps of Military Accountants was a highly specialized, short-lived branch of the British Army. Formed immediately after the conclusion of the Great War in November 1919, the corps was established to implement an updated, modernized cost-accounting system across military operations.
However, following shifting military financial strategies, the corps was completely disbanded in August 1925, with surviving staff absorbed into the Royal Army Pay Corps (RAPC). Due to its brief 6-year existence, very few of these badges were produced compared to standard infantry regiments, giving this King George V emblem an exceptional level of rarity in modern collector markets.
