Up for sale is an original antique World War I (WWI) British military romantic “Song Series” postcard published by Bamforth & Co. LTD. (Holmfirth). This is Card No. 2 from the highly collectible sentimental series “When the fields are white with daisies”.
The front showcases a beautifully composed, hand-colored vintage photograph of a young woman sitting in a field of wild daisies reading a letter from her soldier sweetheart, paired with the song’s sentimental lyrics printed at the bottom. A very touching piece of social, home front, and military history ephemera from the Great War era.
