Size approximately 40 mm tall and 45 mm wide and lug to lug 00 mm….. I believe this to be an Original badge, in very good condition but showing genuine signs of age……. Please study pictures carefully to decide.

Item Details: For sale is a genuine British Army Northamptonshire Regiment Officer’s Service Dress (OSD) Cap Badge. Unlike the common bi-metal versions worn by other ranks, this badge features a distinct chocolate-bronze finish, specifically designed for an officer’s field uniform to maintain a low-profile, non-reflective appearance.

Design Elements: Central Motif: A three-turreted castle with a vertical key, commemorating the siege of Gibraltar (1779–1783).

Battle Honours: Top scroll reads “GIBRALTAR”; middle scroll reads “TALAVERA” (awarded for service in the Peninsular War, 1809).

Wreath: The emblem is encompassed by a detailed laurel wreath with the regimental title “NORTHAMPTONSHIRE” on the base scroll. 

Condition & Construction:

Material: Bronze (OSD finish).

Reverse: Slider

Condition: Fine vintage condition with a rich, dark patina. Sharp detail remains on the castle masonry and lettering. (Please see photos for exact condition).
