This highly detailed insignia features the classic Maltese cross loaded with historical regimental battle honours, enclosed within a sweeping laurel wreath and capped by a Waterloo tablet. The reverse side shows excellent hollow-stamped definition and features its original, factory-brazed vertical brass cap slider.

Formed in 1800, The Rifle Brigade was an elite light infantry unit famed for their green jackets and rapid battlefield skirmishing. This specific 14-scroll pattern topped by the King’s Crown was worn on service caps and field hats by riflemen throughout the heavy campaigns of World War I and World War II until the design was altered in 1956. The original, un-repaired braze joint on the slider is a key marker of period authenticity sought out by militaria collectors.
