Description
Up for sale is an authentic, original British military cap badge for the Royal Regiment of Artillery. This iconic design features a detailed, field gun facing left, topped by a movable-style wheel design.
The upper banner below the King’s Crown reads the motto “UBIQUE” (Everywhere), while the large, sweeping lower scroll reads “QUO FAS ET GLORIA DUCUNT” (Whither Right and Glory Lead). Measuring 35mm tall by 45mm wide, this all-brass/gilding metal variant is highly unique as it features a dual fastening arrangement: it retains both its two original side loops (spaced 38mm apart) and a central vertical mounting slider tab.

History
Formed in 1716, the Royal Regiment of Artillery is the arm of the British Army responsible for providing firearm artillery support. Because they served across every major theatre of conflict, they were granted the unique motto “Ubique” in place of standard individual battle honors.
This specific King’s Crown pattern design represents the gunners who fought throughout the global conflicts of the 20th century. During World War I and World War II, the Royal Artillery manned field guns, anti-aircraft batteries, and anti-tank units across the Western Front, North Africa, and Europe. Cap badges featuring both slider tabs and loops simultaneously are fascinating transition pieces or field modifications, making this a highly interesting example for any serious British military insignia collector.
