Size approximately 41 mm tall and 56 mm wide and between lug to lug one 00 mm …..I believe this is an original badge, in very good condition but showing genuine signs of age……..Please study pictures carefully to decide……

Description – Up for auction is a 100% genuine, guaranteed original British Army infantry West Yorkshire Regiment (The Prince of Wales’s Own) cap badge. This is an authentic piece of military insignia, perfect for any serious cap, hat, or Great War collection.

History – Originally raised all the way back in 1685 as the 14th Regiment of Foot, the West Yorkshire Regiment carried an incredibly decorated combat lineage. The emblem of the White Horse of Hanover was granted to the unit as an early royal honor for its exceptional loyalty and service. 

During the First World War, the regiment expanded massively to encompass 37 battalions, sending thousands of local Yorkshiremen into frontline action. They fought with immense bravery at legendary, grueling battles across the Western Front (including the Somme, Ypres, and Passchendaele), and later served with equal distinction throughout World War II.
