History
The 9th Queen’s Royal Lancers was a famous cavalry regiment of the British Army first raised in 1715. They fought across centuries of global conflicts, most notably earning 12 Victoria Crosses during the Indian Mutiny. This specific style of badge features the regimental number 9 superimposed over crossed lances, topped with the King’s Crown, and was worn proudly by troops through both World War I and World War II. The regiment eventually amalgamated into the 9th/12th Royal Lancers in 1960.
