WW2 Duke of Lancaster’s Own Yeomanry Cap Badge White Metal Slider Original

This is a highly detailed, authentic British military cap badge for The Duke of Lancaster’s Own Yeomanry (DLOY). Beautifully struck in white metal, the central focal point features the iconic crisp Lancaster Rose surrounded by a sharp laurel leaf wreath on the left and oak leaf wreath on the right. The entire design is topped with a finely detailed Duke’s Coronet crown. The lower banners elegantly hold the regimental title scrolls reading “Duke of Lancaster’s Own”. The reverse features its correct, original solid brass vertical slider mounting arm. A clean, classic piece of British cavalry and yeomanry history, perfect for insignia collections.

The Duke of Lancaster’s Own Yeomanry was a senior cavalry regiment of the British Army’s Volunteer/Territorial Force. At the beginning of World War II, the regiment gave up its horses to form tactical artillery units. At this time, they updated their insignia to this precise design, removing the older circular Garter strap layout in favor of the clean scrollwork seen here. This specific white metal pattern with the heavy brass attachment slider was proudly worn by the regiment on their field service caps and side hats throughout the Second World War and early post-war era.
