Description
Up for sale is a genuine, original British Army Lowland Regiment cap badge. This highly collectable Scottish military insignia features a detailed central thistle flanked by thistle leaves, set over a St. Andrew’s Saltire cross. The lower portion includes a crisp, two-tiered scroll reading “LOWLAND REGIMENT”. This is a correct vintage die-stamped white metal issue, which is much preferred by collectors over later anodised versions.
Condition
- Overall State: Good used vintage condition showing authentic signs of age and patina.
- Front Details: The stamping remains sharp, and the unit lettering is entirely clear and legible.
- Rear Details: Features both original copper loop lugs securely attached to the reverse. The loops are intact and strong, though the original split pin is not included. Please review the detailed close-up photos to confirm the exact physical condition.
Item History
The Lowland Regiment was a short-lived line infantry regiment of the British Army. It was originally formed in January 1942 during the Second World War as a training unit and was subsequently disbanded in December 1949 during post-war military reorganisations. Because the regiment only existed for a brief 7-year period, original white metal specimens featuring the dual-lug design are highly sought after by militaria collectors.
