Description
Up for sale is an authentic, original World War II British campaign medal known as The Burma Star. This historic six-pointed star medal features the classic centralized design incorporating the Royal Cypher of King George VI (GRI VI) topped by the Tudor Crown. The central emblem is framed cleanly by a circular band stamped with the inscription “THE BURMA STAR”.
The reverse side of the medal is flat and unengraved, which is completely correct for standard British military issues of this campaign. The medal retains its integrated top eyelet suspension loop alongside its original circular hanging ring. This is an excellent acquisition for WW2 militaria collectors, medal display frames, or family history replacements. Please note this listing includes the medal and rings only, with no fabric ribbon included.

- Overall State: Good original vintage condition with genuine service wear.
- Front Surface: The raised texturing, central cypher, crown details, and lettering are all completely legible and clear. It shows a deep, natural, aged dark bronze-tone patina with minor spotty surface oxidation and handling marks.
- Reverse Side: Exhibits an authentic, untouched aged finish with varied mottling and natural surface discoloration from long-term storage.
- Fixing State: The top integral loop and the attached hanging ring are fully intact, unbroken, and structurally sound.
Item History
The Burma Star was a campaign medal instituted by the United Kingdom in May 1945. It was awarded specifically to British and Commonwealth forces who served in the grueling Burma Campaign between December 11, 1941, and September 2, 1945. This decoration honors those who fought against Japanese forces in highly challenging jungle terrains across Burma, Bengal, Assam, and China, making it one of the most respected campaign stars of the Second World War.
