Description
Up for sale is an authentic, original British military cap badge for The Essex Regiment, dating from the Second World War era. This striking insignia features a highly detailed bi-metal design combining a central copper-toned castle and an oak leaf wreath with a white metal Sphinx resting on an “Egypt” tablet at the top. The lower edge is wrapped in a matching white metal three-part scroll reading “The Essex Regt”.
The reverse side features the original, long vertical brass slider attachment, which remains structurally intact, strong, and unbent. This beautiful badge is an excellent piece of infantry history, perfect for dedicated WW2 militaria collectors, badge frames, or ancestry displays.

- Overall State: Very good wartime vintage condition with sharp stamping lines.
- Front Details: The details on the castle brickwork, oak leaves, and scroll lettering remain highly legible and crisp. It shows a warm, natural aged copper-brass patina without any heavy destructive cleaning.

Item History
The Essex Regiment was a prominent line infantry regiment of the British Army that saw extensive action during World War II.
