Description
Up for sale is a genuine vintage First World War era British military cap badge representing the Northamptonshire Yeomanry cavalry regiment. This beautiful, historic piece features a highly detailed, crisp die-stamped depiction of a galloping horse racing left inside a classic oval frame.
The border frame is clearly embossed with the text “NORTHAMPTONSHIRE” along the top curve and “YEOMANRY” across the baseline. Struck from durable white metal, this original field-issued badge features the traditional vertical twin wire loop lug configuration on the reverse side spaced 41mm apart. It makes a stellar addition for any dedicated WWI British cavalry collection or military insignia display.

Item History
The Northamptonshire Yeomanry was a historic auxiliary cavalry regiment of the British Army first formed in 1794. During the Great War, the regiment mobilized multiple lines of active service squadrons, serving with immense distinction on the Western Front in France and Flanders. The running horse motif reflects their traditional equestrian roots as a yeomanry unit. The twin wire lug fastening configuration seen on this piece was standard for secure attachment to the standard peaked service dress caps worn by soldiers throughout the First World War.
