Item History
Seymour Hall, located in Marylebone, London, was opened in the 1930s and famously served as a premier venue for British amateur and professional boxing events during the mid-20th century. This specific 1957 tournament brought together elite fighters from the British Armed Forces to battle top domestic A.B.A. club boxers. The ticket proudly carries the name of Sir William Emsley Carr, the prominent British journalist and chairman of the News of the World, who served as president of the organizing institute. Full, un-separated tickets from this era are incredibly hard to find, as the vast majority had their main stubs collected at the door by venue stewards.
