The action shot captures Brazilian goalie MANGA punching the ball away directly toward Portuguese winger SIMOES (right), who scored from this exact incident. The front includes the original historic typewritten press caption text and “BIPPA Photo” attribution printed directly along the lower margin. This physical print was produced by the Associated Press in Fleet Street, London, directly following the match on July 19th, 1966, to be rushed to newspaper print rooms. This group-stage clash remains one of the most famous games in football history, as Eusebio and Simoes led Portugal to a shocking 3-1 victory that eliminated the reigning World Cup champions, Brazil, from the tournament.
